2011 saw a year of many
records broken at Bartoline, a remarkable feat bearing in mind the economic
climate of the UK. Sales finished at the highest ever recorded - £23m, up over
£3m compared to 2010.
Both home trade and export
sales continue to flourish, with the latter producing over £2.25m of turnover,
up over 10% on the previous year. Many new markets are being supplied
worldwide, with particular gains in the Far East and India. South America is
also now becoming an important market and is expected to perform better in 2012
as a result of the burgeoning economy in the region.
The most notable event last
year was without doubt the launch of Clean Spirit, our new green White Spirit
alternative. Sales have surpassed all expectations with the resultant substantial
capital investment made in our manufacturing capability. Stockists include ALL
the major DIY outlets such as B&Q, Homebase, Wilkinsons, Asda, Wickes, B&M,
etc, with further commitments from others for the next few weeks/months. A new
4 litre pack size is also being added to the range. As a result of the success
of Clean Spirit, the marketing plan is being expanded and we hope to be able to
make a major announcement regarding this shortly – check back for more details.
Strong sales in Q1 2012, with
an all-time turnover record in March, indicate another good year is likely.
This coupled with abundant ideas for new products, means that we look forward
with relish to the months ahead!
Once again, we would like to
thank our customers, suppliers, staff, friends, etc, for their magnificent
support in 2011. Without you all, there is no Bartoline…….
